Tuesday, May 10, 2011 - The Uzbek government is making unfounded allegations of tax evasion against British gold miner Oxus Gold in an attempt to force the miner into liquidation, a lawyer representing the British firm said on Monday. The Uzbek government wants to steal Oxus Gold’s assets, said the miner’s lawyer Robert Amsterdam who is preparing for an international arbitration case against Uzbekistan.
