TASHKENT (UzEzport) — Uzbekistan and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have inked a $17 mln cooperation program for 2021-2025.
A new key document is to serve as a guide for further FAO activities in Uzbekistan. The program aims at supporting the Uzbek government in achieving its national strategic priorities related to the transformation of the food system.
The main directions are inclusive development of human capital leading to health, well-being and sustainable prosperity.
Various projects worth over $500,000 are to be implemented in Uzbekistan until 2023, including the development of the potato industry and the production of rice crops.
