Uzbekistan to Start Up First Tire Plant

ANGREN (ERJ) — Uzbekistan National Chemical is expecting the production of the country’s first domestic made tire on 1 Sept, according to a television program on 12, May by China’s national broadcaster CCTV.

Jointly contracted by China’s builder Poly Technologies and ChemChina’s Beijing Research & Design Institute of Rubber Industry, the project broke ground in Angren Special Industrial Zone in August 2015.

Angren Special Industrial Zone has been established according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No.4436 dated April 13, 2012. The total area of Angren SIZ is 14,500 ha, that includes the territories of Angren and Ahangaran cities of Tashkent region, and part of territory located between them.

The Establishment of Angren SIZ aimed to form favourable conditions for attracting foreign and local investments to create up-to-date high-tech industrial capacities, which promote manufacture of high value-added competitive products, complex and efficient use of productive and resource capacity of Tashkent region, creation on this basis new jobs and increase of people’s income.

The status of the Angren SIZ participant is granted by Administrative Council of Angren SIZ.
