TASHKENT (UzTAG) — On October 4, 2018, the law of Uzbekistan On restricting the consumption of tobacco and electronic cigarettes in tobacco products came into force, the Ministry of Justice said in a statement.
The law was adopted by the Legislative Chamber, approved by the Senate in late June and signed by President Sh. Mirzieev in early July.
Smoking of hookahs and e-cigarettes is prohibited at shopping facilities, in places of public catering, cultural recreation and entertainment, in medical, educational and sports institutions, at public, airports, railway and transport stations, in administrative buildings, on workplaces, at the entrances of residential buildings, children’s and sports grounds, in parks, squares, on streets and other public places.
Also, the law prohibits the advertising of smoking hookahs, electronic cigarettes and the promotion of their smoking.
