TASHKENT — The video hosting site YouTube and 103 films have been blocked in Uzbekistan. According to local media, problems to access the site began 6 days ago.

Uzbeks have difficulty to access YouTube on the night of 3 to 4 October. Then many users, as it follows, could not load the service, for others it worked very slowly.

At the moment, as local media emphasize, it’s possible to open the site only with the use of VPN and proxy sites that allow to bypass the blocking.

YouTube and the regulator Uzbektelecom do not comment on the problem of unavailability of service in Uzbekistan. According to the DownDetector service, the problems are mainly observed in users from Uzbekistan, as well as in Moldova and Almaty (Kazakhstan).

In addition, Uzbekistan has released a new list of films that are not recommended for display on the territory of the republic. The list includes 103 films, including several TV shows.

Earlier, Uzbekistan blocked the social network Facebook for several weeks, and after numerous disturbances in social networks access to it was restored.

In June 2017, 225 movies were banned.
