Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Have Agreed on the Transit of Gas

ALMATY (KazTransGas press service)— KazTransGas JSC and Uztransgaz JSC have signed an agreement on the transport of Uzbek natural gas through Kazakhstan to be delivered to consumers in the city of Tashkent.
The agreement on the transit of gas through the territory of Kazakhstan was concluded in accordance with the agreements of the leaders of the two countries to ensure the energy supply of the city of Tashkent in winter.
Transit deliveries will be made through the Gazli-Shymkent pipeline and the Bukhara Tashkent-Bishkek-Almaty gas region.
Under the terms of the agreement, up to 1 bln m³ of Uzbek gas is expected to be transported through Kazakhstan. The agreement is intended to establish a fair rate of payment for gas transit services on the territory of Kazakhstan, taking into account all costs and risks associated with gas transport.
