BAKU (Trend) — Uzbekistan Airways will be headed by Bakhtiyor Khakimov (بختیار حکیموف), who previously served as the first deputy director general, and prior to that — as the director of the Tashkent international airport, the company told Trend.

He will replace Ulugbek Rozukulov, who was appointed the director general of Uzbekistan Airways in August 2017, succeeding Valeriy Tyan, who served for more than 15 years.
Uzbekistan Airways is wholly owned by the state and has 11 airports located on the territory of Uzbekistan, six of which are international. The company has representative offices in 25 countries.
During the first half of 2017, the Uzbek company transported 1.227 mln passengers, which provided an increase of 4.3% as compared to the same period of 2016. The company’s fleet performed 11,180 flights in the period that is 489 more flights than in the first half of 2016.
