The President of the UIHJ highly appreciated the progress of the judicial and legal reforms in Uzbekistan, which were relaunched in the reports of the Head of State on the occasion of Constitution Day and in the appeal launched in December 2018 before the chambers of the Supreme Assembly (Oliy Majlis).
Mark Schmitz called the results of the visit of the delegation of the Office of Enforcement to the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by its Director Botir Kudratkhojaev, to the next meeting of the Permanent Council of the UIHJ, which took place from 22 to 24 November 2018 in Paris.
The parties confirmed that, in the context of increasing globalisation, each country is assessed through the prism of the effectiveness of national legal systems as the most important factor in competitiveness and investment attraction. All this is directly linked to the judicial and jurisdictional system as a whole, including the sphere of enforcement procedures, insofar as it largely creates the legal image of the State, its attractiveness as a place of activity.
At the end of the meeting, Mark Schmitz reiterated his readiness to lead the UIHJ delegation to the Tashkent Law Spring International Legal Forum to be held in Tashkent on 11 and 13 April 2019.
