TASHKENT (Satrapia) — The Japanese company Mitsubishi is interested in projects to create a gas chemistry cluster and modernize Uzbekistan’s gas transport system, the Minenergo press service announced.
According to the statement, in Tashkent, on June 13, the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan met with the Director General of the International Department, the Deputy Director General of the Mitsubishi Group, Kazuhiro Watanabe. During the meeting, the practical aspects of the organisation of the 15th Uzbek-Japanese Economic Committee were discussed.
Parties also discussed issues related to new development projects in the energy, oil and gas sectors. These include the construction of modern combined cycle facilities (CCGT) 3 and 4 on the Navoi TPP network, as well as the creation of service centres for the maintenance and servicing of gas turbines manufactured by Mitsubishi.
“Mitsubishi has expressed interest in participating in projects to create a gas-chemical CTO cluster and modernize Uzbekistan’s gas transport system”, the statement said.
