TASHKENT (UzA, Sayyora Shoyeva) – The second International exhibition of leather, footwear, apparel and accessories opened at Uzkurgazmasavdo complex. About 100 companies from nearly 10 countries are representing their products at the exhibition organized by the association of Uzbekcharmpoyabzali, Commerce and Industry Chamber of Uzbekistan and the company of SSP-Expocontact.

Sports, house, special and orthopaedic shoes as well as various fabrics and clothes sewn from them and bijouterie were presented at the stands.

Leather goods – clothes, coats, bags, belts and sports equipments attract visitors’ attention with their design, quality and competitiveness.

Thanks to the attention given to the development of the sphere, the number of enterprises, quality and volume of their products increasing from year to year.

The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers:

On measures for further development and modernization of leather and footwear industry and increase production of finished leather goods for 2009-2012” from 17 June 2009 is important in it.

Our factory produces 100 types of women’s, children’s and men’s shoes,” says Gulom Alimov, the director of the Uzbek-British JV “Annur Tex”. Last year we have participated in the exhibition and found new partners and produced 800,000 pairs of shoes on the basis of the orders. This year, we are going to further increase this figure.

Nearly 70 companies of the association Uzbekcharmpoyabzali are specialized mainly in processing of leather, manufacture of footwear, leather-haberdashery products and artificial leather.

In 2011, leather goods and shoes worth US $30 million were exported to China, Pakistan, Turkey and other countries by these enterprises.
