Establishment of the Tashkent International Arbitration Centre

TASHKENT (Satrapia) — By presidential decree, the Tashkent International Arbitration Centre has just been established under the aegis of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Uzbekistan

The Centre will resolve disputes relating to contractual and other civil law relations between commercial organisations located in different countries, including foreign investors, as well as disputes relating to investments, intellectual property and blockchain-type technologies, and the development and improvement of resolution mechanisms. In the latter area, the Centre may use other alternative means to resolve disputes through cooperation with the main international arbitrations, through the exchange of experience in the field of dispute resolution through international arbitration, as well as using foreign arbitrators.

The objectives of the Centre also include participation in the implementation of measures for the training and further training of specialists in the field of international arbitration and out-of-court dispute resolution, including investment-related disputes, as well as the organisation of research in this field, the provision of advisory services to national and foreign economic entities, including foreign investors, in the field of the prevention of investment-related content, one of whose parties is the State.
