SAMARKAND (Profit.kz ) — The Uzbekistan Ministry of ICT announced that re-tranmission of terrestrial analog TV services will be gradually switched off across the country this year. The process is expected to be finalised by 5 December.
The signal of DVB-T services currently covers 100% of the country’s population. In connection with the intensive development of digital television in the republic, the Ministry appealed to citizens with a recommendation to purchase TVs that support the DVB-T2 standard. Worth noting, most modern TVs (including those manufactured in Uzbekistan) feature a built-in digital tuner that standard.
There are about 35 independent TV stations in Uzbekistan along with the State TV and Radio Company.
