Chinese DM Meets Tajikistan, Uzbekistan Military Officials

(CRIENGLISH.com) –Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie held meetings with visiting Tajikistan Defense Minister Sherali Khairulloev and Uzbekistan Deputy Defense Minister Rustam Niyazov on Monday.

Liang, also a state councillor, hailed pragmatic cooperation between China and Tajikistan under the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization during his meeting with Khairulloev. He said the countries share similar positions on major international and regional issues and the two militaries have maintained healthy and stable development. “China is willing to work with Tajikistan to further strengthen and deepen military communication and cooperation,” he said.
Khairulloev said Tajikistan regards China as a good partner, attaches great importance to the relations and commits to strengthen bilateral friendly cooperation.
Liang told Niyazov that the rapport between China and Uzbekistan has benefited from frequent high-level visits, increasing political mutual trust and garnering great results in various fields in the international arena.
He said he hopes to strengthen communication and cooperation with Uzbekistan.
Niyazov said he hopes to broaden the cooperation fields, strengthen pragmatic cooperation and make greater contributions to the two countries’ relations.
