International Atomic Energy Agency
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was established in 1957 as an autonomous organisation. However, it reports to both the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council. Its mission is to promote the peaceful use of nuclear energy, and to inhibit its use for any military purpose, including nuclear weapons. The IAEA has its headquarters in Vienna.
The IAEA has 172 member states.
