VIENNA (Ruptly) — Gharib Abadi, Iran’s ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has rejected a new non-binding resolution of the agency in the ongoing inquiry into suspected Iranian nuclear stockpiles. He made the statement in a televised interview in Vienna on Friday.
IAEA’s Board of Governors had through earlier reports, adopted a draft resolution, Friday, demanding access to two sites in Iran that it believes are being used to store stockpiled nuclear materials illegally.
Abadi stated that the resolution from the agency is “not binding in terms of international law." He further explained that, until a number of concerns are resolved, there will not be any cooperation between Iran and the IAEA on the matter, adding that they “made this clear to them.”
