TEHRAN (Ruptly) — A Taliban delegation was in Iran on Sunday for peace negotiations concerning the situation in Afghanistan, spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Bahram Ghasemi confirmed in Tehran on Monday.

Ghasemi said the Taliban “had a comprehensive negotiation with the Iranian delegation, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Seyed Abbas Araqchi.”

“The main aim of these negotiations was finding a solution to facilitate negotiations between Afghan groups and the country’s government for improving and advancing peace talks in Afghanistan”, Ghasemi added.
