FARCH CITY (Pajhwok Afghan News) — A group of Qatari traders has arrived in western Farah province on the first-ever direct flight from their country to inaugurate some development projects.
Led by Al Gharrafa Charity Foundation director Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Thani, the Qataris arrived this afternoon at the airport in Farah City, said the airport director, Jamshid Farahi.
The Al Gharrafa Charity Foundation director Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Thani has been visiting the province over the past few years and stay for some time.
Several projects funded by the Al Gharrafa Charity Foundation would be put into service in few days, he said, adding the projects included school buildings, a runway and a terminal at the provincial airport and a fire brigade
However, some locals claimed Arabs used to come to Farah province for hunting rare birds, but provincial officials rejected their claim.
