KABUL (Pajhwok Afghan News) — A Taliban commander was killed during infighting in the Kohband district of central Kapisa province on Sunday.
Kapisa police spokesman Mohammad Ayub Yousafzai told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place on Sunday morning in Darnama rea of the district. He said a dispute over distribution of arms and ammunition triggered the infighting that resulted in the killing of a Taliban commander, Maroof (معروف).
Several other militants were wounded in the clash, said Yousafzai.
There has been no word from the Taliban about the incident.
Last week, a dozen Taliban insurgents and two local policemen had been killed during a clash in Azra district of central Logar province.
