MOSCOW (Ruptly) — The intra-Afghan meeting focussed on finding solutions for the Afghani peace process begins in Moscow on Tuesday, February 5.
Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai, former vice president Mohammad Yunus Qanuni, members of the Afghan opposition and representatives of the Taliban among other prominent Afghan figures have confirmed their participation in the talks, while Kabul government officials will not be present at the meeting.
The Taliban delegation will be headed by the group’s former Qatar office chief Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai.
The meeting is organised by the Council of Afghan Society, an organisation representing the Afghan Diaspora in Russia.
