Gen. Miller gets US Senate Approval to Lead Troops in Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok Afghan News) — New US Forces Commander for Afghanistan Lieutenant General Austin S. Miller, gets US senate approval to serves as commander of foreign forces in Afghanistan.

Miller was recently picked by President Donald Trump to replace outgoing NATO and US Forces Commander Gen. Nicholson in Afghanistan.

Gen. Miller said that foreign forces mission in Afghanistan was to eliminate terrorist groups and secure the families of coalition partners. He warned in case of foreign forces pull out from Afghanistan, Daesh and other terrorist groups would get strengthened and it would instable Afghanistan.

The new foreign force commander believes diplomatic efforts and military pressures are necessary for success in Afghanistan.
