Afghanistan Signs $7 mln Grant with Kuwait Fund

KABUL (Pajhwok Afghan News) — In the occasion of the International Monetary Fund/World Bank annual meetings in Lima from October 9 to 11, Afghan Minister of Finance Eklil Hakimi signed a grant of $7 mln with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.

Under the agreement, a statement from the Ministry of Finance in Kabul said, the Kuwait Fund would provide assistance for the promotion of food security in Afghanistan.

The delegation participated in meetings with major development partners of Afghanistan. During the discussions, Hakimi laid out government’s development plans for the immediate, medium and long term.

The team also discussed the government’s Post-SOM Reform agenda and preparations and for the upcoming High Level Conferences on Afghanistan planned to be help in Warsaw and Brussels.
