KABUL (Pajhwok Afghan News) — Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministr Shehzad Aryubi on Saturday said the postal service revenue would reach nearly one billion afghanis until the end of the ongoing fiscal year.

Aryubi, while addressing a press conference in connection with World Post Day (Oct 9), at the government media centre, said so far this year the postal income had reached AFN700 mln and would reach one billion afghanis until the end of the year, which showed an increase over the previous year.

He said his ministry was trying to provide standard postal services to the compatriots. Right now, all passports and other documents were distributed through posting service branches to customers.

He said the draft postal service management law had been dispatched to Parliament and its approval would pave the ground for investment in the sector.
