SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok Afghan News) — Twenty-two people, including seven Taliban, were killed in a suicide blast targeting a commiseration ceremony in the Sayyad district of northern Sar-i-Pul province on Tuesday, an official said.
Police Chief Abdul Qayyom Baqizoy told the blast happened at around 2:30 PM in the Ajeram village. Fifteen civilians and seven Taliban had been killed in the bombing, he added.
Baqizoy said some people were injured in the blast and shifted to the hospital. He did not clarify the commiseration ceremony belonged to whom adding some Taliban member also participated in the event.
No group claimed responsibility for the suicide attack.
