ASHGABAT (TDH) — At the session of the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers on September 6, President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov signed the Law on Cyber Security, which, among others, defines the processes of digitization in Turkmenistan. The resolution outlines a plan for the digitization of Turkmenistan.

According to the resolution, the new company Agzybirlik Tilismaty, created by the Turkmen government and the Chinese company Hengsheng Lianhua Investment Management and Tongfang Hongkong, will produce computers in Turkmenistan.

Agzybirlik Tilismaty is expected to be the first company in Central Asia to produce computer equipment. The company is currently manufacturing test samples of laptops, tablets and personal computers and is scheduled to start producing computers under its own brand by the end of the year. With an expected annual production of 500,000 computers, the company will export its products to neighbouring countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan.

The Turkmen-Chinese joint venture also works closely with Microsoft and Intel. Software and IT component developers provide recommendations for Agzybirlik Tilismaty to potential buyers in Central Asia, according to the report.
