Turkmen Overseas Students Are Required to Apply to Receive Money Transfer
Keywords:
PARIS (Satrapia) — Since August, new rules on bank transfers have been introduced for Turkmen students studying at foreign universities.
From now on, students need to contact the Embassy of Turkmenistan with an adequate form in order to receive bank transfers. The request must indicate the student’s residence address, telephone number, and the telephone numbers and addresses of the parents living in Turkmenistan who will make the money transfers. A certificate of enrolment from the educational institution must also be attached.
Documents can be sent by e-mail, but the application must be handwritten and scanned.
The Embassy examines the applications and forwards a set of documents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The parents must then personally visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to obtain permission to transfer money. Parents are then allowed to go to the bank to deposit cash on a bank card.
It is not yet clear whether these certificates will have a validity period during which money transfers can be made or whether documents will have to be filed for each single transaction.
