MARY (Turkmenistan.ru) — A media forum titled Asian Games in the World Press was held in the city of Mary, Turkmenistan. It brought together journalists from a number of other countries. The forum discussed the 5^th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games to be held in Ashgabat this September.

According to the participants, the forum aimed at enhancing cooperation between the mass media representatives from different countries and shifting the efficiency of joint work for preparation of the Asian Games.

The forum participants noted that cooperation between representatives of Turkmenistan’s mass media, the International Association of Sports Press and the leading media companies of the continent would facilitate the exchange of experiences and make a positive impact on improving the coverage of the upcoming competitions.

Turkmenistan will host for the first time ever the high-level international competitions in September 2017. The distinctive feature of the competitions is that sportsmen from 17 Oceania countries will participate in the Games for the first time along with sportsmen from 45 Asian countries. It is expected that some 6000 athletes will compete in 21 disciplines during the Games.
