AVAZA (Ruptly) — Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev and Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow met in the Avaza tourist zone near the city of Turkmenbashi on Monday, as part of the first ever Caspian Economic Forum (CEF).

The Caspian summit marks the Turkmen leader’s first public appearance for a month amid rumours that he had died or was in ill health. The event is aimed at bolstering cooperation between Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, the five countries along the Caspian Sea.

Medvedev showcased Berdimuhamedow Russian luxury car Aurus Senat, with the Turkmen leader saying he was impressed with the limousine and adding that he intends to order an entire line of the vehicles.
