(Turkmenistan.ru) – Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Energy has announced an international tender for construction of the Ashgabat-Balkanabat-Turkmenbashi power transmission line with the capacity of 500 kV and the Balkanabat-Gonbad (گنبد کاووس, Iran) power transmission line with the capacity of 400 kV.

The Balkanabat-Gonbad power line is the continuation of cooperation agreements between Iran and Turkmenistan in electricity export. The Dousti (دوستی, “friendship”) dam was built with costs shared equally by the two countries, and was officially inaugurated in April 2005.

According to Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper, bidders can obtain specifications and technical requirements at the Office of the State Examination of Investment Projects and Technology Projects and Licensing of the Ministry of Energy in Turkmenistan.

Bids should be submitted to the head office of the ministry before October 1, 2012.
