Cooperation Deal signed by Turkmenistan and Qatar

ASHGABAT (QNA) – Qatar and Turkmenistan signed cooperation protocol on economic and trade cooperation in addition to fields of energy, communications, education and tourism at the first meeting of Joint Higher Committee here yesterday.

Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov with the Qatari Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority (ACTA), Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah.

Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, the Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority (ACTA) led the Qatari side while Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov led the host in the meeting.

The protocol was signed by Al Attiyah and Turkmenistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov. Qatar’s Ambassador to Iran and Non-resident envoy in Ashgabat Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Al Mighaseib and Qatari delegation members attended the meeting.

Before the signature ceremony, Mr Al-Attiyah had met President Berdymukhamedov.

Joint Higher Committee’s second meeting will be held in Doha next year. Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah arrived in Ashgabat on Sunday on an official visit.
