Belarus President Wants to Discuss New Topics with Turkmenistan

MINSK (Telegraf.by) – It’s scheduled to discuss the whole range of bilateral cooperation at the upcoming talks with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. “We may arrive at some new topics. But with God’s help we shall implement what we’ve already agreed upon,” said the head of state.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, the visit of the Turkmen leader in Minsk, scheduled for April 27, is very important for Belarus. President of Belarus considers Turkmenistan an important and promising partner. Turkmenistan has huge resources, but it lacks such technologies as in Belarus, Ukraine and Russia, said President Alexander Lukashenko
According to the President, Belarusians have begun to build a potash plant in Turkmenistan. Belarus intends also to construct roads and engage in housing, as well as equipment supplies to this country.
The two Presidents have agreed to meet once a year and a half to discuss the progress of the bilateral agreements, the Belarusian leader reminded.
Alexander Lukashenko visited Turkmenistan on April of last year. During the meeting with Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, he assured, when speaking of the interaction between the two countries in the international arena, that Belarus “is always ready to back Turkmenistan in any situation.”
