ASHGABAT — Issues relating to establishment of trade and economic partnership between business structures of Turkmenistan and Brazil were discussed at a round-table Turkmen-Brazilian business forum in Ashgabat.
The sides discussed prospects of Brazilian businessmen’s joining the priority projects in Turkmenistan, namely in the fields of power engineering, agriculture, textile industry, as well as tourism and sports.
Noting the good prospects for Turkmen-Brazilian business partnership, the round-table participants expressed their interest in establishing mutually beneficial relations in high-tech industries, including development of alternative energy sources and innovative technologies in strict compliance with international environmental standards.
In recent years Turkmenistan intensified cooperation with Latin American countries, including Mexico and Venezuela. In particular, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez visited Turkmenistan in late 2009. The promising directions of business cooperation are trade, fuel and energy complex, agriculture, textiles, tourism, high technology and the sphere of practical use of alternative energy sources.
