DUSHANBE (TajikTTA) — Tashkent will grant Tajik entrepreneurs $100 mln in the form of a loan for importing of Uzbek goods.

At the meeting with journalists, Rumbullo Hakimzoda, the chairman of the Amonat Bank, said that these funds will be distributed among three Tajik banks — Amonat Bank, Orienbonkom and Eskhata Bank.

According to the head of Amonat Bank, the funds distributed between these banks will be given to Tajik entrepreneurs as a loan at 8% per annum if the loan is taken for one year and 9% per annum if the loan matures in 1 to 3 years. According to the agreement, entrepreneurs should use to import goods from Uzbekistan and for sale on the territory of Tajikistan.

To date, 12 Tajik companies have expressed interest in receiving this loan for a total of $19.9 mln, whose applications are to be considered.

In March this year, the State Bank Amonat and the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of trade finance, which provides for the financing of transactions related to the export of goods and services from Uzbekistan to Tajikistan.
