DUSHANBE (Satrapia) — In a decision of 14 May of this year, the Government of Tajikistan approved a mechanism for granting and paying targeted social benefits for low-income families.
According to this decision, the subsidies will be granted from July 1 to poor families in the following regions:
- in Khatlon region, the districts of Vakhsh, Vose, Dangara, Dusti, Kushoniyon, Nosiri Khusrav, Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadoni, Kubodiyon, Khuroson, Jaihun and Abdurahman Jami;
- in Sughd region, the districts of Asht, Matcha, Jabbor Rasulov, Bobojon Gafurov, Devashtich and Spitamen, the towns of Guliston, Isfara and Istiklol);
- in the republican subordinate regions of Varzob district, the cities of Vahdat, Rogun and Tursunzade;
- in Dushanbe — the four districts.
There are no GBAO areas in the document.
The annual amount of the allowance for each low-income family is 464 somoni ($45.20 — eight indicators). Payments are made on a quarterly basis in the amount of 116 somoni ($11.30 — two indicators) through the branches of Amonatbonk.
“Citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan who consider themselves to be poor and, for legitimate reasons, find themselves in difficult living conditions and are unable to overcome those conditions on their own, shall submit an application for targeted social benefits to the autonomous bodies of villages and dehot, the housing and commune administration or the mahalla committee of the place of residence”, indicates the procedure approved for application.
It should be noted that targeted social benefits will be allocated and paid on an exceptional basis to single elderly persons living in difficult conditions.
Families supporting disabled persons in groups I and II or with more than two disabled persons, as well as single parents raising a disabled child, benefit from certain advantages in relation to their level of living.
The financing of the subsidies will be covered by the State budget.
