Tajikistan to Invest $19 mln in four Food Production Plants

DUSHANBE (TajikTA) — Tajikistan plans to invest 181 mln somoni ($19.1 mln) in the construction of four agro-food industrial companies.
“These companies will produce dairy products, including cheese and milk, vegetable oil, alcoholic beverages and drinking water”, announced the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan.
These companies will be established in the cities of Dushanbe and Gissar, as well as in the Kushonian district, where a total of 230 people will be employed for this purpose.
In addition, it is planned to open a yak milk processing workshop in the high mountain district of Murgab in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region. According to the administration in charge of the project, the workshop equipment has already been purchased and delivered, its installation will soon begin. The production of dairy products will be carried out in the Shiri Kuhuiston (شیر کوهستان) company.
