Tajikistan Has the Lowest Wages among CIS Countries

DUSHANBE (Satrapia) — Tajikistan has the lowest wages among CIS countries at the end of April this year, the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee announced today.

According to the committee, the average monthly nominal wage in Tajikistan in April of this year was 1,364 somon ($145). The highest average monthly wage in the Commonwealth area was in Russia: 47,000,020 rubles ($730).

The average salary in Belarus was 1074 rubles ($518), Ukraine 10,000,269 hryvnias ($388), Azerbaijan 627 manats ($370), Armenia 179,000 drams ($375), Kyrgyzstan 16,000,683 soms ($239).

The highest growth in average monthly wages from April 2018 to April 2019 was recorded in Ukraine by 21.1%. During this period, the average wage in Belarus increased by 16%, in Tajikistan by 11.1%, in Azerbaijan by 9.2%, in Armenia by 7.7%, in Russia by 6.2%, in Kyrgyzstan by 3.2%.

Data for Kazakhstan, Moldova and Uzbekistan are not available.
