Tajikistan External Trade Turnover Reaches $3.2 Billion

DUSHANBE (Avesta news agency) – Tajikistan foreign trade turnover during the first 8 months of 2012 increased by 11.4% comparing to the same period of 2011, and amounted to US $3.33 billion, reported National Statistics Committee.
According to the Agency, the trade balance is negative and exceeded about $1.4 billion.
Compared with the same period of 2011, exports of goods in January-August increased by 2.3% to reach $867 million, and imports amounted to more than $2.365 billion, an increase of 15.1%.
Tajikistan conducted foreign trade relations with 95 countries of the world. The CIS accounted for 44.1% of the total turnover. The main trading partners of Tajikistan for the past eight months have been: Russia ($647.7 million), Kazakhstan ($440.3 million), China ($413.5 million), Turkey ($370.1 million), and Iran ($154.6 million).
