DUSHANBE (Asia-Plus) — Despite unsettled debts, Tajikistan intends to borrow another some 777 million U.S. dollars within the coming three years under the national foreign-borrowing program: $261.8 mln in 2019; $255.9 mln in 2020; and $256.6 mln in 2021.

The government’s foreign borrowing program currently includes 75 existing loan projects and 67 loan agreements at the planning stage. The total value of loans granted under this program up to January 1 of this year was $990 mln.

In the current year, funds amounting to $121.4 mln are planned under this programme.

The Tajik government is the borrower, while the repayment will be made directly by the economic entities that benefit from it.
