Tajik Schoolchildren Won 5 Medals in Physics and Chemistry

DUSHANBE (TajikTTA) — Tajik schoolchildren brought home five medals from the world school Olympiads in physics and chemistry held in Portugal, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

The 49th World Olympiad in Physics took place in Lisbon from July 21 to 29 this year. More than 400 students from 90 countries, including 5 schoolchildren from Tajikistan, took part in this school Olympiad.

According to the results of the Olympiad in Lisbon, the second place was taken by a 11th grade schoolboy from a college for gifted children of Dushanbe and a 9th grade pupil from the of the Hotam and PV school, Daler Pirov. A 10th grade pupil of the same Hotam and PV, Farahmand Hasanov, took the third place in the World School Olympiad in physics.

Two more medals were won by Tajik schoolchildren during the 50th World School Chemistry Olympiad, held from 19 to 29 July this year in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. A total of 280 schoolchildren from 70 countries took part in the World School Olympiad in Chemistry in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Inoydzhon Majidov, a 11th grade pupil from the college for gifted children of Dushanbe, won a silver medal, and a 11th grade pupil from Spitamen school N° 3 of the Spitamen district, Achror Ismoil, won a bronze medal.
