DUSHANBE (TajikTTA) — The total revenue of communication enterprises in Tajikistan, , together with private operators and providers amounted to about $140 mln in the first half of this year, which is 8% more than what was forecasted.

Ilham Atayev, deputy chairman of the communication service under the government of the Republic of Tatarstan, said at a press conference that while for the first six months of 2017 the industry earned $128.9 mln, for the same period of this year this amount was $139.5 mln:

The amount of telecommunications services provided to the population was 925.50 mln somoni ($98.1 mln), which is $4.8 mln more than last year’s figure.

Atayev noted that there are almost 311,000 people working in the communications industry in Tajikistan, with an average salary of 945 somoni ($100):

In Tajikistan, there are more than 6.2 mln mobile subscribers, more than 4.1 mln of which are active. More than 3.5 mln local communication subscribers, of which 1.3 mln are active. The number of Internet users, including mobile Internet, is 2.5 mln people.

The deputy communications service also noted that there are 470 postal services in Tajikistan. The total revenue from the rendered services of the State Unitary Enterprise Pochtai Tonic " amounted to more than $427,000 for the first six months of the present year.
