DUSHANBE (TajikTTA) — For the six first months of the 2018, the number of passengers of Tajik Air decreased by 4.5%. In this period, the national airliner served 152,100, 7,300 less than last year. The volume of postal and freight traffic in this period declined by 23%.

It is emphasized that the regular flights on the Dushanbe-Khorog-Dushanbe route depend on the availability of a sufficient number of passengers. Flights to Dushanbe from Khorog Dushanbe are carried out by AN 28 and helicopter Mi 8.

Work is under way to expand the geography of flights. Preparations are in progress for the following flights: Dushanbe-Delhi-Dushanbe, Dushanbe-Sharjah-Dushanbe, Dushanbe-Ashgabat-Dushanbe.

Meanwhile, Somon Air resumed its flights for Dushanbe-Tashkent-Dushanbe route. Flights on this route will be carried out on the fifth days of the week. In addition, in the year of the development of tourism and folk crafts, in August the airline intends for the first time in the history of civil aviation of independent Tajikistan to start flights on the route Dushanbe-Bukhara-Dushanbe.
