DUSHANBE (Satrapia) — Between January and July this year, about 46.7 mln tonnes of freight was transported to Tajikistan, including all modes of transport. This is an increase of 6% over the same period last year.

However, “During the reporting period, more than 3 mln tonnes of goods were transported by rail, which represents a decrease of 0.8% compared to the same period last year”, the country’s statistical agency said.

More than 43.8 mln tonnes of freight were transported by road. Compared to the same period of last year, growth in road freight traffic stood at 6.6%. About 93.4% of the total volume of goods transported is road transport.
