DUSHANBE (Ruptly) — Russian President Vladimir Putin surprised Chinese leader Xi Jinping with a birthday cake and a selection of Russian ice cream, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on Saturday. Xi celebrated his 66th birthday in Tajikistan’s capital on the sidelines of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia.

Congratulating Xi, Putin admitted that while celebrating his own birthday in Indonesia they had been in a better position since the party had started after work, not beforehand. “That time I think I drunk much more vodka than before. I had never drunk so much vodka”, recalled Xi. At Saturday’s celebrations the leaders were limited to a flute of sparkling wine.
