DUSHANBE — The total amount of arrears in payment of wages taking into account past years in Tajikistan as of the beginning of August this year amounted to over 23.6 mln somoni (more than $2.5 mln).
According to statistics the highest indebtedness in the real sector of the economy remains in the mining industry and the development of quarries — more than 8.9 mln somoni (≈ 944,700), manufacturing industry — over 3.7 mln somoni ((≈ $392,700), construction – more than 2.7 mln somoni ((≈ $286,600), agriculture and forestry — more than 3.6 mln ((≈ $382,000).
The lowest monthly wages in the real sector of the economy in July of the current year were among the workers of agriculture, forestry and fishing, which situated between to 470 somoni and 753 somoni (($49.8)-$79.9). The highest salary was in the construction (2,3000), in the mining industry and the development of quarries (2,400 somoni), in electricity, gas and water supply (1,700).
In the service sector, employees of financial intermediation, transport, warehousing and communications, real estate and commercial activities remain who are the highest paid, with salaries of 3,200, 2,300 and 1,500, respectively.
