DUSHANBE (Avesta news agency) — In April, inflation was 0.5% in Tajikistan, the National Bank of Tajikistan declared. According to the source, this was due to a rise in price of food products (0.9%) and non-food products (0.2%).
The inflation, basically, has arisen under the influence of seasonal factors. During this period, increased prices for liquefied gas, beef, apples, carrots, eggs, cabbage, lemon, pear. However, in April, there was a decrease of 0.1% in tariffs for paid services to the population. The National Bank notes that since the beginning of the year prices and tariffs for paid services have decreased by 0.2%.
The annual inflation rate (for the last 12 months) at the end of April was 1.9%, which is 0.6% lower than the end of March this year.
Note that in the consumer market in Tajikistan during February and March this year, deflation was recorded.
At the end of 2017, inflation in the country was 6.7%. This year it is hopped to keep inflation under 7%.
