DUSHANBE — The state power holding Barki Tojik asked the government of Tajikistan to raise tariffs for electric and heat energy, said Nazar Odinazoda, the first deputy head of the antimonopoly service under the government.
To consider the request of Barki Tochik, a working group has been created that will analyze the economic activities of the energy holding. The methodology, on which the request for tariff adjustment is considered, presents several options. “One of them proposes to raise tariffs for electricity and heat by 15%”, said the first deputy head of the antimonopoly authority. He added that the final decision on this issue is in the competence of the government.
It should be noted that electricity tariffs in Tajikistan are increasing almost every year for all categories of consumers, except for the Tajik aluminium company. The last time they were changed on October 1 of last year. At present, the population pays 16.85 dirhams/kWh.
