DUSHANBE (Avesta news agency) — The first deputy chairman of the city of Dushanbe Mahmadsaid Zuvaidzoda announced to journalists that the bus assembly company AKIA is planned to be set up in Tajikistan.

According to him, an agreement on cooperation was signed between the State Unitary Enterprise Nasbi Naklīti Barki and Ducharha (Assembly of Trolleybuses and Bicycles) and the Turkish company AKIA. According to the agreement, the executive body of state authorities plans to purchase 100 AKIA buses in Turkey. Most of the buses will be assembled in Dushanbe jointly with Tajik and Turkish specialists.
The deputy chairman of the city of Dushanbe, Kurbon Saidzoda, in turn, said that the plant’s production capacity would be 250-300 buses a year.
“Earlier in Dushanbe, a group of specialists from Turkey arrived, which engaged in the training of Tajik specialists to work in the future enterprise. 20 of our specialists have been trained and are ready to work”, Saidzoda said.
According to him, the plant for assembly and production of buses is built on the territory of the capital Gulbutta district, and the opening of the plant is planned in the days of the celebration of Nowruz.
