WASHINGTON (The White House press service) — US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that five or six more Arab countries are “coming along very quickly” in signing peace deals with Israel. Trump’s remarks were made alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House shortly before the signing of diplomatic pacts between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
“We are very far down the road with about five countries, five additional countries. Frankly I thought we could have had them here today”, Trump said, adding that Washington is “already talking to them.” He also stated that Palestine would be "joining at the right time."
“This is peace in the Middle East without blood all over the sand. Right now it has been blood all over the sand for decades and decades and decades, that’s all they do, they fight and kill people and nobody gets anything”, Trump told the press. “Even Bibi is tired of war”, he added, referring to Netanyahu by his nickname.
Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel is enjoying the greatest diplomatic thrive of its history and attacked the “tyrants of Tehran”.
The Israel-Bahrain treaty is set to establish diplomatic ties between the two countries following a previous peace deal signed between Israel and the UAE earlier this month.
