World’s Largest Dam Is Threatening the Lives of 400 mln in China
TAIPE (Epoch Times) — In the past few days, heavy rains have occurred in Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing, and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in southern China, resulting in highest flood peaks. According to CCP official statistics, as of June 23, 26 provinces experienced floods, 11.22 mln people were affected, and 980 reservoirs discharged flood.
Huang Wanli, Chinese expert and professor of the Department of Hydraulic Engineering at Tsinghua University, has mainly opposed two water conservancy projects in his life. One is the SanMenXia project, and the other is the Three Gorges dam project.
On June 24, the Epoch Times reporter interviewed Professor Wang Chung Yü of Department of Civil Engineering of National Central University (NCUCE), Taiwan, asked for his views about issues related to the Three Gorges Dam project and how to prevent disasters.
