US Navy Veteran Released after Deal with Tehran
NEW DELHI (WION) — Michael White, an American detained in Iran, was released on Thursday after more than a year in custody in a deal with Tehran. His mother, Joanne White, confirmed in a statement that he has been freed, saying “the nightmare is over.”
The US Navy veteran who said he had contracted coronovirus while in custody in Iran since 2018 was freed on Thursday as part of a deal in which the US hired an Iranian-American physician from Iran was allowed to visit back home.
