Turkish Raids on Sites in the Iraqi Province of Duhok
ABU DHABI (Sky News Arabia) — Early on Friday morning, Turkish soldiers launched a series of raids on the mountains surrounding the towns of Derlock and Chiladze in the northern province of Dohuk.
No human or material casualties have yet been reported.
Witnesses reported that Turkish forces had entered the Iraqi Kurdistan Region since 15 June, setting up 24 military facilities on top of the mountain ranges and highlands they occupied in the areas of Batifa and Darkar districts.
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry calls on Turkey to put an end to "violations of sovereignty".
Turkish forces are constantly bombing sites surrounding villages in areas whose inhabitants have been displaced due to the spreading of Turkish raids.
The new wave of raids comes a few days after the deployment of Iraqi border guard units in the frontier areas of Zakho district in Dohuk governorate.
